Kathey has a Master of Science in Nursing and is a Johnson & Johnson School Health Leader Fellow. She has presented at the NASN 48th Annual Conference on "How to Secure Grant Funds". She is a School Emergency Triage Trainer (SETT) since 2011 which has her traveling all over the country to do SETT training for School Nurses. Currently she is an senior nursing instructor at College of the Ouachitas. She works in the fast tract program with LPN - RN students. Kathey has served on the NASN Board of Directors where she did presentation and worked on Position Statement. She has spoken at the local, state, and national level to various groups on a variety of different topics related to school nursing.
