Please Contact your House Representatives once again!!   Please support SB569 as amended!  This will go to the House Floor for a final vote tomorrow April 23rd!

What an amazing organization this is!  Thank you to Arkansas School Nurses, Past and Present.! Together you have made a difference and Your voices were heard!  Members reached out to their representatives and made an impact during this legislative session! SB569 started in good faith by Sen Hester and Reb Stan Berry. ASNA was not in full support and the Legislators heard this. Rep Lee Johnson was a tremendous help in getting an amendment to this bill at the last hour. Thank you to Amy Fortner, ASNA President, and Margo Bushmiaer, LRSD for testifying on behalf of Arkansas School Nurses. Also present for support were Jacque McEuen, LRSD and Cynthia Hines, PCSSD. They all worked together to get a bill passed that would protect Arkansas School Children and support Arkansas School Nurse's practice. We are now in Support of SB569 as it stands as the amended bill.

ALSO...to keep you up to date...

Yesterday Rep Julie Mayberry presented HB1826 to the Senate Education Committee. Ronda Wagner, ASNA Pres-Elect was there to testify in support of this Bill. Also present was Cynthia Hines, PCSSD.  It was not an easy road in the House Education Committee, but the Senate Education Committee unanimously gave it a Do Pass! Today it will go to the Full Senate for the last and final vote. What an exciting time for the Arkansas School Nurses! Thank you to Sen Missy Irvin for Co-Sponsoring this bill.
